When God calls little children to dwell with him above,
We mortals sometime question the wisdom of his love.
For no heartache compares with the death of one small child,
Who does so much to make our world, seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold,
So he picks a rosebud, before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them, and so he takes but few,
To make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows will always be "good bye"
So when a little child departs, we who are left behind,
Must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find.
Is There a God? A Heaven?
by Marcy Heminger
Today as I stood by your grave
I looked up toward the sky
And wondered if there was a God
And if there was - just why -
He had to take you from us,
He had to make you die.
If he knew how much we need you,
how much we miss you so,
Perhaps he would have left you here
and not have made you go.
If he knew the pain of losing you
How hard it is to bear
Perhaps he would let us know
that you are really there -
Up in his heaven, safe with him.
With no more troubles, no more sins.
That you are happy and content,
that you are well, - and that death meant -
Another beginning, not the end,
and only then can my heart mend.
So God, please show me that you care,
Let me know my son is there.
I Will Be Fine
Pat Hitts
You ask, "How are you doing?" and I reply, "I'm fine."
But, inside my mind is screaming...those words are just not mine.
But, I thank you so for asking, it is difficult...I know.
As I'm sure the pain is evident...you know I love her so.
Every crevice of my being, every corner of my soul
is filled with longing...aching, that will never cease....I know.
Yet, I know I will get better...my heart will heal with time.
It will never ever be whole again, but...yes, I will be fine.
The pain will dull as time goes by with the help from God above...
We have so much in common...He has the one I love.
My faith in Him sustains me for He does so much you see...
He sends her love down to me...it surrounds me endlessly.
Someday we will be reunited, in the Heavens up above..
Someday God will rejoin us with the child that we love.
God's Loan
(Author unknown)
"I'll lend to you for a little time,
A child of mine," He said,
"For you to love the while she lives
And mourn for when she's dead.
"It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you till I call her back,
Take care of her for me?
"She'll bring her charms to gladden you
And should her stay be brief,
You'll have these precious memories
As solace for your grief.
"I cannot promise she will stay
Since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
"I've looked this world over,
In my search for teachers true.
In the crowds that throng life's land,
I have selected you.
"Now will you give her all your love
Not think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take her back again?"
It seems to me I heard them say,
"Dear Lord, thy will be done.
For all the joys a child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter her with tenderness,
We'll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay.
"And should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand."
A Child's Angel
(author unknown)
Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.
So one day he asked God:
They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?
Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.
But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy.
Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy.
And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?
Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.
And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?
Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.
I've heard that on earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?
Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.
But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.
Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly:
Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name
Your angel's name is of no importance, you will call your angel: Mommy
I’ll Be There
Daddy please don’t look so sad,
Momma please don’t cry
“Cause I am in the arms of Jesus
And he sings me lullabies
Please, try not to question God,
Don’t think he is unkind
Don’t think he sent me to you,
And then he changed his mind.
You see, I am a special child,
And I’m needed up above.
I’m the special gift you gave him,
The product of your love.
I’ll always be there with you,
And watch the sky at night,
Find the brightest star that’s gleaming,
That’s my halo’s brilliant light.
You’ll see me in the morning frost,
That mists your window pane.
That’s me, in the summer shower,
I’ll be dancing in the rain.
When you feel a little breeze,
From a gentle wind that blows.
That’s me I’ll be there,
Planting a kiss on your nose.
When you see a child playing,
And your heart feels a little tug,
That’s me, I’ll be there, Giving your heart a hug.
So daddy, please don’t look so sad,
Momma don’t you cry.
I’m in the arms of Jesus
And he sings me lullabies
I’m an Angel Now

One night I cried to Jesus as I sat beneath the tree,
I looked into the open sky and hoped he'd answer me.
I'm lost, dear Lord, I've traveled far but I still seem to roam,
Please light the way and lead me, Lord; I need to get back home.
I told him of my burdens and of the sadness in my heart,
That from his gracious love I'd never felt so apart.
Why did you take my child, Lord? I cannot understand!
I'm angry, Lord, I'm missing him. I'm drowning in my sorrow,
Please help to heal my yesterday and face each new tomorrow.
It was then I heard his gentle voice and felt his presence near,
How I wanted to hold him as I cried another tear.
He said, "Mommy, I'm an angel now, my spirit will be free,
I'm an angel now in Heaven so please don't cry for me.
I was chosen by our Lord above and now I'm in his care,
When you need me, look inside your heart, I promise to be there.
No one can ever take away our bond with one another,
For I'll always be your precious child as you will always be my mother.
So if you cannot find your way or the road to home seems far,
Just look up to the heavens and I'll be your guiding star."
He said, "Mommy, I'm an angel now, my spirit will be free,
I'm an angel now in heaven -- no need to cry for me."

I thought of you and closed my eyes; and prayed to God today
I asked what makes a Mother and I know I heard him say ...
A Mother has a baby, this we know is true.
But God, can you be a Mother, when your baby's not with you?
Yes, you can, he replied with confidence in His voice,
I give many women babies, when they leave is not their choice.
Some I send for a lifetime; and others for a day
And some I send to feel your womb, but there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this, God, I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared His throat; and then, I saw a tear.
I wish I could show you, what your child is doing today
If you could see your child smile with other children and say
"We go to earth to learn our lessons of love and Life and Fear,
My Mommy loved me oh so much, I got to come straight here ...
I feel so lucky to have a Mom, who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson very quickly, My mommy set me free.
I miss my Mommy oh so much but I visit her each day
when she goes to sleep, on her pillow is where I lay.
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek; and whisper in her ear
Mommy, don't be sad today, I'm your baby and I'm here."
So, you see, my dear sweet one, your children are okay
Your babies are here in my home; And this is where they'll stay.
They'll wait for you with me, until your lesson is through
And on the day that you come home; they'll be at the gates for you.
So, now you see what makes a Mother, it's the feeling in your heart
It's the love you had so much of; right from the very start.
Though some on earth may not realize you are a Mother
They'll be up here with me one day; and you know you're the best one.
You Never Said Goodbye
Dorothy Ferguson
You never said I’m leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it
And only god knew why
A million times I needed you
A million times I cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died
In life I loved you dearly
In Death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to loose you
But you didn’t go alone
For part of me went with you
The day God took you home
You Were So Young.
We’ll never understand it
It was all so brief.
Why someone so little
The pain, the hurt, the grief.
At first we felt so bitter
Why?...we used to say.
God knew how much we loved you,
But still he took you away.
We still miss you as much today,
But now we understand
God makes us - and it’s up to him,
When he takes our hand
Our Baby
In a baby castle, just beyond our eyes,
Our baby plays with angel toys that money cannot buy.
Who are we, to wish that you had known this world of strife?
Now, play on, our Baby you have eternal life.
At night, when all is silent and sleep forsakes our eyes
We’ll hear your tiny footsteps come running to our side.
Your little hands caress us, so tenderly and sweet
We’ll breathe a prayer and close our eyes
And embrace you in our sleep.
Feelings we will treasure,
Sometimes they’ll make us sad,
Because, our little Baby
We are still your Mum and Dad.
GOODNIGHT AND BLESS YOU.
Little Snowdrop
The world may never notice if a Snowdrop doesn 't bloom,
Or even pause to wonder if the petals fall too soon,
But every life that ever forms or even comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way for all eternity.
The little one we longed for was swiftly here and gone,
But the love that was then planted is a light that still shines on,
And though our arms are empty our hearts know what to do,
