We saw you on the scan
And we watched you grow and grow
And how we hoped and prayed
And how we love you so

We saw you move your toes
We saw you move your fingers
We saw your hair grow longer
How those memories linger

We prayed that you'd get better
We prayed you'd be okay
We prayed we'd bring you home
We prayed that you'd stay

There were tears when we saw you
Fighting for your life
There were tears when we held you
Fighting with all your might

Our hearts broke as we held you
Our hearts broke when you died
Our hearts broke at that moment
And remain broken inside

Joel my son
Joel is my baby son
But he doesn't live with me
He left me very quickly

Time with Joel
If I could have just one wish
That simply would come true
I'd close my eyes and say out loud
I want more time with you

The time we had was much too small
The cuddles were far to few
But Joel my baby if I could have
Lots more time with you

I'd cuddle you oh so much
I'd sing and play with you too
Then feed and bath and tuck you up
